VX-18-1X
Series Routers provide users with diversified
interfaces, including the Ethernet interface,
multi-protocol synchronous/asynchronous serial
interface, AUX port, ISDN BRI S/T and U interfaces,
CT1/PRI interface, E1-F interface and VoIP interface.
The multi-protocol synchronous/asynchronous serial
interface supports such protocols as V.24 DTE/DCE,
V.35 DTE/DCE, X.21 DTE/DCE, RS449 DTE/DCE and
RS 530 DTE. You need to select appropriate cables
for your desired interfaces. VX-18-1X Series routers
support flexible networking with PSTN/ISDN, frame
relay, X.25, digital data network (DDN), T1/E1,
and other WAN technologies.
VX-18-1X Series Routers provide
abundant network security features,
including system network architecture (SNA), data-link
switching (DLSw), VLAN, Bridge,
VPN and IP multicast. They also provide quality
of service (QoS) and voice over internet
protocol (VoIP) features. Thus, this series can
act as branch routers to work together with
series routers and as Ethernet switches to provide
a comprehensive end-to-end network solution for
Internet service provider (ISP), large and medium-sized
enterprise users, and industry users in telecommunication,
finance, taxation, and railway.

Network
Security: |
| |
VX-18-1X Series routers
provide abundant network security features,
such as firewall, packet filtering, network
address translation (NAT), authentication,
authorization and accounting (AAA), and callback.
Hence, you can select different security policies
to build enterprise networks. |
 |
Building
a VPN: |
| |
Intranet virtual private
network (VPN) interconnects the geographically
dispersed
branches of a company via public networks,
as an extension and replacement of
traditional leased line networks and other
enterprise networks. Access VPN provides
secure tunnels for small-sized users like
SOHO to access the resources of company
headquarters via PSTN/ISDN. Extranet VPN extends
the enterprise networks to the
business partners and clients, and enables
different companies to communicate securely
and privately over the public networks. VX-18-1X
Series Routers are mainly used at the access
end of VPNs. |

Dial
Control Center: |
| |
VX-18-1X Series routers
provide perfect dial-in solutions and support
two dial-in modes, namely legacy DCC and dialer
profiles. In addition, they support the link
layer protocols like point to point protocol
(PPP), the network layer protocols like Internet
protocol (IP) and internet packet exchange
(IPX); they have the capability of running
multiple dynamic routing protocols on the
dial-in interfaces; they thereby can satisfy
various network topology requirements. The
dialer profiles own more functions, and can
enable multiple dial-in users to share a physical
interface via the dialer pool and make different
calls. |
 |
Reliability:
|
| |
The backup center technology
can greatly enhance the network reliability.
The synchronous interface, asynchronous interface,
CT1/PRI interface and ISDN BRI interface implement
line backup and provide high reliability. |
 |
Command
Line Interface: |
| |
The command line interface
(CLI) of Quidway® AR 18-1X Series Routers
can be
configured in common ways. No special training
is needed for users. |
 |
2B+D
Data Transmission: |
| |
VX-18-13/18-13V/18-15/18-18V
have the built-in terminal adapter (TA) and
provide
the ISDN BRI S/T interface or U interface
for 2B+D data transmission. |
 |
T1
/ E1 Leased Line & PRI Dial-in Service: |
| |
VX-18-16/ 18-18/18-18V
provide one CT1/PRI interface or E1-F interface.
The
CT1/PRI interface can provide the bandwidth
of up to N x 56 Kbps or N x 64 Kbps for
data transmission after being bundled into
channel-groups. In addition, it can provide
remote users with the dial-in service after
being bundled into a pri-group. The E1-F
interface supports only one bundle and does
not provide the PRI dial-in service. |
 |
Chassis:
|
| |
Electromagnetic shielded
plastic chassis, which the AR-1x Series
Routers adopt, has not only a smooth external
appearance and small size, but also can
effectively shield
electromagnetic interference from various
sources to make the system work more stably
and reliably.
