VX-18-3X Series
routers are oriented to Small Office Home Office
(SOHO) users. They include VX-18-30/30E/31/31E/32/32E/33/33E/34/34E/35/35E
models. VX-18-3X Series Routers belong to xDSL
routers and provide a new solution to high bandwidth-consuming
small and medium-sized enterprises or some large
branches and offices. In the uplink direction,
VX-18-3X Series routers provide the ADSL/ADSL2+,
G.SHDSL or ISDN interface, which can be directly
connected to the equipment at the central office
through one or two subscriber lines to provide
broadband access services. The ISDN interface
primarily
functions as a backup interface. In the downlink
direction, VX-18-3X Series routers provide four
10/100BASE-T Ethernet interfaces. The interfaces
provide Layer 2 data exchange and can implement
port isolation.
VX-18-33/18-34/18-33E/18-34E
is based on SHDSL access of ATM. The VX-18-33/34
supports single-pair wiring, and the VX-18-33E/34E
support dual-pair wiring.VX-18-30E/31E provides
the ADSL2+ over POTS (Annex A standard) interface,
and the VX-18-32E/35E the ADSL2+ over ISDN (Annex
B standard) interface. They provide symmetric
uplink and downlink broadband leased line access
over the twisted pair cables for those small and
medium-sized enterprises and SOHO users, who is
not capable of building their private networks
or cannot afford high expenses of DDN communication.
VX-18-30E/31E/32E/35E has the switched Ethernet
interface and support VLAN management.

Features: |
 |
Network
Security: |
| |
VX-18-3X Series Routers
provide abundant network security features,
such as
firewall, packet filtering, network address
translation (NAT), authentication, authorization
and accounting (AAA), and callback. Hence,
users can select different security policies
to build enterprise networks. |
 |
Building
a VPN: |
| |
Intranet virtual private
network (VPN) interconnects the geographically
dispersed branches of a company via public
networks, as an extension and replacement
of traditional leased line networks and other
enterprise networks. Access VPN provides secure
tunnels for small-sized users like SOHO to
access the resources of company headquarters
via PSTN/ISDN. Extranet VPN extends the enterprise
networks to the business partners and clients,
and enables different companies to communicate
securely and privately over the public networks.
Vx-18-3X Series Routers are mainly used at
the access end of VPNs. |
 |
Dial
Control Center: |
| |
VX-18-3X Series Routers
provide perfect dial-in solutions and support
two dial-in
modes, namely legacy DCC and dialer profiles.
In addition, they also support the link layer
protocols like point to point protocol (PPP),
the network layer protocols like internet
protocol (IP) and internet packet exchange
(IPX); they have the capability of running
multiple dynamic routing protocols on the
dial-in interfaces; they thereby can satisfy
various network topology requirements. The
dialer profiles own more functions, and can
enable multiple dial-in users to share a physical
interface via the dialer pool and make different
calls. |
 |
Reliability: |
| |
The backup center technology
can greatly enhance the network reliability.
The features of synchronous interface, asynchronous
interface, CT1/PRI interface and ISDN BRI
interface implement line backup and provide
high reliability. |
 |
Command
Line Interface: |
| |
The command line interface
(CLI) of VX-18-3X Series Routers can be
configured in common ways. No special training
is needed for users. |
 |
2B+D
Data Transmission: |
| |
The VX-18-31/18-34/18-34E/18-35/18-32E/18-35E
has the built-in terminal adapter (TA) and
provides the ISDN BRI S/T interface or U interface
for 2B+D data transmission. |
 |
ADSL/ADSL2+
and G.HSDSL Access: |
| |
VX-18-3X Series Routers
support ATM PVC, point-to-point protocol over
AAL5 (PPPoA), IP over AAL5 (IPoA), and point-to-point
protocol over Ethernet over AAL5 (PPPoEoA).
The routers can cooperate with different DSLAM
devices for SOHO users’ broadband network
access. Branch offices are strongly recommended
to adopt the ADSL + NAT + IPSec / IKE solution.
With the IKE aggressive mode and the NAT traversal
feature, the branch offices can replace the
traditional leased line access solution with
the securer ADSL broadband access solution. |
 |
Chassis: |
| |
Electromagnetic shielded
plastic chassis, which the AR-3x Series
Routers adopt, has not only a smooth external
appearance and small size, but also can
effectively shield electromagnetic interference
from various sources to make the system
work more stably and reliably.
