VX-28-1X Router can be either the core router on small to medium-sized enterprise networks, or the access router for the network branches on some large-sized enterprise networks. The series is also suitable for the use on carrier networks such as telecom management networks and billing networks.

VX-28-1X series adopts modular design and provides a wide range of multifunctional interface modules (MIMs) and smart interface cards (SICs). In addition, the series provides AC-powered and DC-powered units.

VX-28-1x series adopts high-speed microprocessor PowerPCs. The series delivers terminal access, SNA/DLSw, backup solutions based on the backup center technology, VoIP, IP multicast, and portfolio of rich QoS features. With all these features, the router can be networked with other Series Routers and Ethernet switches to provide overall end-to-end network solutions for medium to large-sized enterprises and industries from telecom, ISP, finance, revenue, public security to railway transportation.

As software and hardware of the series are designed in compliance with international standards, the router can interoperate with products of other vendors at all layers. This protects user investment to the maximum degree. There are five models of VX-28-1X routers: VX-28-10, VX-28-11, VX-28-12, VX-28-13, and VX-28-14.

	The VX-28-1X Routers support many different service interfaces, including synchronous serial interface, asynchronous serial interface, FE, E1/T1/PRI, ISDN BRI, E3, FXS, FXO, E&M, E1VI, T1VI, ATM, ADSL and so on. They also fully meet various networking requirements of DDN, Frame Relay, X.25, PSTN, ISDN, ATM and etc..
	Perfect Security Protecting System:
	VX-28-1X routers provide comprehensive security solutions. The security solution contains: packet filtering firewall, network address translation (NAT), Authentication, Authorization and Accounting (AAA), VPN, Call Back service, log administration, and so on.
	Constructing VPN:
	Intranet VPN interconnects distributed points of the Intranet through the public network so as to serve as the extension or replacement of the traditional leased line network or other Intranets. Access VPN helps set up secure channels for small size users such as SOHO to access the resources of the company headquarters through PSTN/ISDN. Extranet VPN extends the Intranets to the partners or the clients, so as to enable different Intranets to conduct secure and private communications to each other through the public network.
