Most people believe that all we do is build DSLAMS and Modems. But that is not true, what came well before DSLAMs was indeed fiber and lots of fiber media converters at that. Versa Technology is one of the world’s largest producers of fiber to Ethernet Media Converters in the world. We produce many different kinds and flavors, we even custom build for specific telco needs. From 100mbps standard to 10/100/1000Gbps auto sensing, from 550meters to 80km we have it all with an engineering staff that has been working for almost 15 years. Now some highlights and best sellers include the following:

VersaXpress-200E is an unmanaged single port fiber optic media converter that translates between 10/100 BASE-TX copper and 100BASE-FX fiber cabling. This fiber optic transceiver extends network data transmission distances beyond the 100 meters limitation distances of copper wire up to 60 kilometers by using Single Mode fiber optic model. The VX-200E 10/100 BASE-TX-to-100 BASE-FX media converter is typically used to connect Fast Ethernet devices, such as 10/100Base-TX Hubs, at long distance. The fiber optic transceiver will connect servers or workstations located up to 60 kilometers from each other.

The VersaXpress-217 managed media converter chassis is a 2.5U Rack mount Media Conversion equipment combine with a Network Management Unit (MCU) that allows for the monitoring and managing of the system fiber infrastructure. The whole media converter system can be managed through Web based, Telnet, and SNMP management or through local console port. Coordinate with SNMP management server, the fiber optic transceiver also support extensive array of traps and provide automatic e-mail notification to network management administrator. Using the Network Management, the managed media converter chassis polls the related active modules, and displays the type of installed cards, link status, packets ingress and egress counts as well as other important information. The Network Management also enables/disables each port on the Line Cards, controls the ingress/egress data rate, enables module loop-back testing and provides the ability to configure system parameters such as the system IP address.

Versa Technology’s Gigabit Ethernet PON platform for the Single Home and MTU/DMU/MHU is comprised of the Co-side concentrator, VX-EP3108 and customer-side ONT (Optical Network Terminal) or ONU (Optical Network Unit). The VX-EP3108 concentrates traffic from a maximum 8, 16 or 32 ONTs/ONUs per PON into up to four 1000M Ethernet ports that connect to any gigabit Ethernet switch or router. With the VX-EP3108, Ethernet over PON can run up to 20Km at the maximum speed up to 1.25Gbps, which proves to be emerging revenue generation gear for developers and service providers

As you can see Versa Technology is a huge leader in Fiber/Media Converter Technology and our GEPON and GPON solutions are set to outpace, and price beat just about every competitor you can imagine, and furthermore our solution is already field tested and deployed by Telco’s worldwide. Talk to Versa Technology Inc. today and see if we can help because, to Get Versa is to Get Connected.

It guarantees competitive access performance beyond 100Mbps bandwidth per subscriber necessary for multi channel high resolution video delivery as well as high speed data and toll quality voice with RF video to all customers on the PON.

The Versa Technology GEPON product line secures a migration path to the premises for IP-centric services such as VLAN, multicasting, link aggregation, multi-layer filtering, rate limiting, class of service (CoS) and quality of service (QoS). Robust and open web-based management system provides easily the capabilities necessary for operation administration, maintenance and provisioning.

Cost effective optical distribution for single home as well as MDU

The Versa Technology GEPON concentrator for installing at the Central Office or Business Park securing cost effectiveness through lower cost optical distribution and less space in its installed office. Also it can support hotel, office, MDU owners and BLEC (Building Local Exchange Carriers) to deliver converged IP services using the VX-EP246 Optical Network Terminal for Copper Distribution.

Future-proof multi-layer data and RF video features

The Versa Technology GEPON Chassis supports 802.1q Tag VLAN, Mac Address Limitation per Bridgeport, IEEE802.1p, 802.1ad link aggregation and IP multicasting for more value generation. It also provides multi-layer features beyond Layer 2 that future proofs services. The fully mounted platform is capable of RF video along with high-definition video over IP.

Modular and expansible architecture

The Versa Technology GEPON Chassis is designed for modular architecture with 2-PON per slot enabling expansion to 20-PON. This rack mountable chassis can take 640 FTTH subscribers and be stacked and managed easily across thousands of subscribers.

User-friendly management interface

The Versa Technology GEPON product supports robust performance as utilizing OAM for link monitoring, loopback and fault indication with SNMP, and provides Web-based GUI for ease of use.

Joe Taylor, Director of Business Development at Versa Technology has been listening to customers for years try to figure out how to gain an edge on cable operators and incumbents “Fiber to the Home is the only way to gain the ultimate competitive advantage in North America, Latin America and South America. It is the answer to the question, ‘What Next?’ We hear at Versa Technology must move forward and provide its service providers with the bandwidth they need to give the end user even more features than they could ever want.” He also had this to say: “While copper is still viable in a lot of situations, we have to listen to our customers and be able to provide them with a solution that will ensure competitiveness for 20 years to come.”

GEPON ONT

The Versa Technology Line up of GEPON ONT is quite impressive, including both indoor and outdoor Optical Line Terminals. This allows providers the ability to provide both single home or MDU environments with FTTH so that they can deploy a single solution across a large region. The Versa Technology GEPON ONT also supports IEEE802.3ah MPCP, 802.1d, IGMP Snooping, and 802.1q VLAN.
