VersaXpress-VLR104
long reach Ethernet repeater is a revolutionary
networking solution that bridges networked as well
as Internet access devices. Nowadays, Ethernet is
the most prevalent networking protocol deployed
within the enterprise and the home. In recent years,
the booming economy in most countries has created
explosive growth in broadband connectivity requirements.
This growth has propelled Ethernet to become the
choice for broadband connectivity in small residential
campuses and multi-dwelling units because Ethernet
Represents low equipment cost, high performance,
and ease of provisioning. To further the advantage
of using Ethernet for broadband connectivity, Versa
Technology’s Long Reach Ethernet product family
extends the maximum driving distance of Ethernet
from 500ft to about 4,300ft for 10BASE-T and 1,000ft
for 100BASE-TX without using any repeaters.
The VersaXpress-VLR104 long reach Ethernet repeater
is an IEEE compliant physical layer device that
converts between Long Reach and standard Ethernet
signaling to allow system designers to quickly upgrade
existing Ethernet hubs and routers to work with
Long Reach Ethernet Extender and support Ethernet
connections up to 4,300ft. The VersaXpress- VLR104
long reach Ethernet repeater supports full-duplex
standard and long reach Ethernet at 10 and 100 Mbps
operations. It provides manual selection to specify
between data rates and auto-negotiation for standard
versus long reach operations. Back
